For many people, green is no longer a noun; it’s an expectation for life, a consumer choice and a vision for a better and brighter tomorrow. Going green has become a global trend and businesses who choose to take this path not only show their love for the environment, but also a promise they made to consumers. 1 Elm is a green hair salon located in Shenyang of Liaoning Province, China co-founded by 3 hairdressers with over 10 years of experience in the hair and beauty industry. In 2013, the 3 owners came across a a tranquil place in a small alley surrounded by elm trees and enjoyed the sunshine that filtered through the trees. When they saw a sign that read “To Let” on a restaurant window by the roadside, they decided to rent the place. Hence, Elm was born.

The 3 salon owners share a mutual vision. They believe that a healthy scalp and hair growth is extremely important to a person’s health and appearance. In order to provide customers a professional green salon service, Elm called up O’right in Taiwan in hopes of featuring hair care products from the world’s greenest hair care brand. The natural, pure and eco-friendly products of O’right built a bridge between hairdressers and consumers. From the environment to their service, Elm gives customers a deeper insight into the charisma of green hair care. It’s hard not to fall in love with the extraordinary qualities of Elm.

3The aim of the hair salon is to make customers feel like they are enjoying a relaxing afternoon in a café with handmade cookies made by Elm. When customers visit Elm, they are not only getting their hair done, but also going to a place where they can chat with friends, drink a cup of tea or coffee, play the guitar or even hold a small salon gathering to share experiences.
